The controversial skater will appear in the 2026 Jackass film using never-before-seen archival material, despite previous statements about never returning to the franchise.

Bam Margera will return to the Jackass universe through previously unreleased archive footage in the franchise's next installment. Johnny Knoxville announced this week that the new Jackass movie hits theaters June 26, 2026, distributed by Paramount Pictures.

This marks the first Jackass production since Jackass Forever in 2022, when Margera was removed during filming due to reported substance abuse problems. The Pennsylvania native has repeatedly stated he would never work with the crew again.

Broken Bridges and Legal Battles

Margera's relationship with his former castmates soured after the 2022 incident. He told reporters in 2025: "They have like new dudes, and what they did to me, making me go to treatment and paying for it, and then not putting me in a movie, and, you know, I had to go to court over it and I just, you couldn't offer me enough money to want to do another Jackass with them."

The legal dispute stemmed from contractual obligations and treatment requirements that Margera felt were unfair. His exclusion from Jackass Forever left fans disappointed and created tension within the tight-knit stunt community.

Steve-O Backs Potential Comeback

Fellow Jackass member Steve-O expressed support for Margera's return during a January 8 TMZ interview. "There's still some stuff that needs to be worked out, but there's nothing that would be better than a full-circle redemption, triumphant return, and for us to ride off into the sunset on a win — all of us together," he said.

The archive footage approach allows Margera to appear without performing new stunts or dealing with current production demands. Sources indicate the material has never been publicly released.

Knoxville made the film announcement on social media with characteristic enthusiasm: "Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang. We wanted to let you know that this summer Jackass is back!!" The full cast lineup remains unconfirmed.
