Dancing With the Stars Is Rehearsing in Masks to Stop Anyone Identifying the Cast
Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars won't reveal its full lineup until September 2 on Good Morning America, but rehearsals started this week, and ABC has resorted to escorting celebrities out of the studio in masks to keep the secret.
It is not working.
Officially confirmed
- Maura Higgins, fresh off a second-place finish on The Traitors, announced at Hulu's Get Real event in April
- Ciara Miller of Summer House, announced at the same event
- Jackson Olson, the Savannah Bananas second baseman, announced at Disney's upfront in May
- Guillermo Rodríguez, Jimmy Kimmel's longtime sidekick, announced on Kimmel's show
Rodríguez is partnered with Witney Carson, who will be the first professional to compete on the show while pregnant.
Circulating, unconfirmed
Names being reported by outlets and traded on Reddit include Tyler Cameron, Jenna Dewan, Julia Stiles, Tatyana Ali, Harry Shum Jr., Giada De Laurentiis, Taylor Hanson, Connor Wood, Ezra Frech, and reality figures Connor Leavitt and Sarah Jane Nader.
Treat all of that as rumour until September 2.
A network is putting masks on celebrities to protect a cast announcement that fans have already reverse-engineered from paparazzi photos and parking lot sightings. Nobody tell them about the internet.
Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli return as judges, with Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough hosting.
