The Oscar winner gets candid about her most memorable on-screen romance moments, comparing her viral Central Park kiss with the Dune star to a legendary smooch from decades past.

The Oscar-winning actress may not have hit theaters yet with her latest project alongside the Dune star, but Gwyneth Paltrow is already creating buzz online thanks to their romantic scene together in the upcoming sports drama. However, when pressed to rank her most memorable on-screen kisses, she places another moment at the top of her list: her passionate scene with Ethan Hawke.

A Reunion 27 Years in the Making

During a recent sit-down conversation, Paltrow and Hawke reconnected nearly three decades after their collaboration on the 1998 romantic drama Great Expectations. The reunion took an interesting turn when Hawke posed a particularly personal question about her latest film work.

"You know, I have one selfish question that I have to ask about this movie. You kiss Timmy Chalamet in Central Park. Did you shoot in Central Park? Did you kiss him in the same place you kissed me? I think it's the same location," Hawke inquired, referencing their iconic romantic scene from years past.

Without hesitation, Paltrow firmly shut down any suggestion that she would film in the same sacred spot. "No, honey. Never. Ne-ver! I never would have done that. I never would have desecrated our make-out spot like that," she responded with conviction.

Hollywood's Most Memorable Screen Romance

Hawke's reaction was immediate laughter, and he went on to share how their chemistry continues to resonate with audiences. When asked about cinema's greatest romantic moments, his candid response was, "You know what? I say that goes to us," referring to himself and the Iron Man actress.

The pair's enduring connection clearly struck a chord with fans, cementing their status as one of Hollywood's most beloved on-screen couples from that era.

When Paparazzi Photos Become Global News

During her appearance on a morning television show promoting the December 25 theatrical release, Paltrow addressed the viral nature of behind-the-scenes photographs showing her and the 29-year-old actor in character. The images, which captured them sharing a romantic moment during filming, quickly spread across social media platforms.

"You should have seen my mommy-group chats when the paparazzi pictures came out of us kissing in the park. All the moms were pretty stoked. My British school moms too — yeah, it was like a global event, apparently," the 53-year-old actress revealed.

The widespread attention those candid shots received certainly validates her assessment of their impact, making even Hawke curious enough to bring up the comparison during their interview.

High Praise for Her Young Co-Star

When discussing her experience working on the ping-pong themed drama, Paltrow couldn't contain her admiration for her leading man's performance. Despite her initial concerns about taking on such a significant role, she was thoroughly impressed by his dedication and skill.

"He was great... To be honest, I was a little nervous. Like, it's a big role, and it's a brave move to put a non-actor in a part like that, and I just thought he nailed it. I mean, everyone was so impressed," she explained.

She also expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting how she was "excited to work with Timothée Chalamet because he's obviously so talented."

In the upcoming film, Paltrow portrays Kay Stone, a former movie star who becomes romantically involved with an ambitious ping-pong player named Marty Mauser. The story follows this young man with unconventional dreams as he faces numerous challenges in his pursuit of athletic greatness.
