Hayden Christensen Eager for Standalone Darth Vader Project
The actor who brought Anakin Skywalker to life reveals his enthusiasm for returning to the dark side in a dedicated series or film, while confirming his upcoming appearance in Ahsoka's second season.
Hayden Christensen isn't hiding his excitement about the possibility of stepping back into Darth Vader's iconic black armor. During a recent appearance at Fan Expo Chicago, the actor made it clear he's ready to embrace the dark side once again if given the opportunity.
"I would love to, yeah. So if the powers that be decide that that's something they want to see, I'd be there in a heartbeat," Christensen told fans at the convention.
Return to the Galaxy
After staying away from the Star Wars universe for nearly two decades, Christensen made his comeback in the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series. He took on dual roles, portraying the menacing Sith Lord while also appearing as his former self, Anakin, in flashback sequences and visions.
The actor's journey back to that galaxy far, far away continued when he showed up in the first season of Ahsoka. His character appeared before his former apprentice, Ahsoka Tano, in the mystical realm known as the World Between Worlds.
Confirmed for Season Two
Fans won't have to wait long to see more of Christensen's work. At this year's Star Wars Celebration event in Japan, he confirmed his return for Ahsoka's upcoming second season.
"There's not much that I can share, but Anakin will be back for season 2," he revealed to the enthusiastic crowd.
Inspiration from Recent Portrayals
When discussing how he'd approach a potential solo Vader project, Christensen pointed to Rogue One as his inspiration. He praised how the 2016 film captured the villain's terrifying presence.
"I loved how they portrayed Darth Vader in that film," he shared with attendees at Fan Expo Boston. "There are so many different people that have contributed to this character, and I'm just one of them. I loved what they did."
