Hong Kong Sci-Fi Epic Returns After 25 Years to US Theaters

A quarter-century wait ends as the martial arts time-travel saga that captured hearts worldwide finally lands on American screens. Well Go USA Entertainment secured distribution rights for the cinematic continuation of Hong Kong's beloved 2001 series.
The film reunites original cast members Louis Koo, Raymond Lam, Jessica Hsuan, Sonija Kwok, and Joyce Tang in their iconic roles. Fresh faces join the adventure including Michael Miu, Bai Baihe, and Louis Cheung under directors Ng Yuen-fai and Jack Lai.
Box Office Success Crosses Borders
Hong Kong audiences embraced the return with record-breaking enthusiasm. Opening day receipts hit $1.48 mn, marking the territory's biggest single-day launch for a local production. Weekend totals reached $5.4 mn locally while Chinese theaters generated $24 mn.
Sammo Hung's action choreography drives the spectacle. His work on the Ip Man franchise established him as a master of martial arts cinema.
Time Travel Plot Unfolds
The story picks up nineteen years after the original series concluded. Hong Siu-lung emerges from peaceful retirement when the unified Qin Dynasty faces a vengeful time-traveling enemy. Past and present collide as the protagonist and Emperor Ying Ching defend their empire against familiar and unknown threats.
Louis Koo's One Cool Film Production developed the project with producers Wai-Bat Tang and story creator Xin He. The narrative promises the same twisty temporal mechanics that made the original series a phenomenon.

Well Go USA president Doris Pfardrescher praised the production's blend of choreographed combat, historical elements, and science fiction innovation. She expects the film to satisfy longtime fans while attracting newcomers to the universe.
