Jessica Alba Calls Fantastic Four Nude Scene Her Most Humiliating Moment
Jessica Alba recently opened up about a moment in her career she'd rather forget. At the Red Sea Film Festival, the star revealed which scene left her feeling completely humiliated, a memory that still gives her 'whiplash' from those early days in Hollywood. What was this awful experience?
Jessica Alba recently reflected on her extensive career, pinpointing a particularly uncomfortable on-set experience as her absolute least favorite. While speaking at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the actress didn't hesitate when asked to name the scene she wishes she never had to film.
An Unforgettable Humiliation
Alba identified a scene from the first The Fantastic Four movie, where her character Sue Storm is on a bridge, as a major low point for her professionally.
I thought that was awful,
she stated, according to Variety. The star went into detail about why the moment was so difficult for her personally.
It was very humiliating in real life. I grew up with a pretty conservative family, and I am a pretty modest person. I dreaded that scene for weeks. I have a lot of whiplash from those days.
The Silver Lining of Sue Storm
Despite the negative memory, Alba holds a deep appreciation for her time playing Sue Storm across the two movies released in 2005 and 2007. She remembers the character as a positive figure.
She was very maternal and very kind, but also not a pushover; she spoke her mind. She had a great moral compass,
Alba shared.
She emphasized Storm's strength, noting,
No matter who you are, you can look up to her. Oftentimes, the women in these stories need to be saved by a guy or the villain, the problem in the story. This was back then. It’s different now.
Family, Films, and the Future
When asked about the latest installment, Fantastic Four: First Steps, which hit theaters this past summer and features Vanessa Kirby as the new Sue Storm, Alba admitted it's still on her to-do list. The reason is a relatable one for any parent.
I usually watch those movies with my kids, and if Sonic was out, my son wants to watch it 85 times in a row. When it comes to movies that are for the family, my kids dominate what we watch for sure,
she explained.
However, she's determined to see it.
But I have to convince him because we have to see it! I love Marvel, and they’re so fun.
The Red Sea Film Festival also featured a rare public appearance by Michael Caine, who was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. During a heartfelt speech, the wheelchair-bound actor officially confirmed his retirement from the screen.
I kept going until I was 90, which is two years ago. I’m not going to do anything else, I’ve had all the luck I can get.
