Actress Mia Goth shares her profound experience working with director Christopher Nolan on the upcoming Ancient Greek epic The Odyssey, praising the filmmaker's trust in actors and directorial approach.

Mia Goth has nothing but praise for her time filming Christopher Nolan's upcoming Ancient Greek epic, The Odyssey. The actress describes her involvement in the project as transformative and deeply meaningful.

"That was one of the greatest experiences of my life. It really was. It was profound," Goth shared with The Hollywood Reporter. "I've been such a fan of Nolan's work for years. And so to have that opportunity and to witness him and how he directs was incredible. I took a lot from that. The trust that he has in actors was enlightening."

Star-Studded Cast Brings Homer's Epic to Life

The film adapts Homer's classic tale of Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, chronicling his decade-long struggle to return home after the Trojan War. Divine obstacles and mythological challenges block his path at every turn.

Matt Damon takes on the lead role of Odysseus. Tom Holland portrays his son Telemachus, while Anne Hathaway plays his devoted wife Penelope. The ensemble cast also features Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, and Charlize Theron.

Goth's Role in the Epic

Goth will appear as Melantho, Penelope's trusted maid. While Odysseus battles gods and monsters on his journey home, Penelope remains on Ithaca, faithfully waiting for his return while rejecting numerous suitors who seek her hand.

The character represents one of many figures in Odysseus' household who must navigate the uncertainty of the king's prolonged absence.

Cast Members Share Similar Enthusiasm

Goth isn't alone in her enthusiasm for the production. Matt Damon expressed similar sentiments about his time on set, calling it a career highlight.

"I can say, without hyperbole, that it was the best experience of my career," Damon revealed last year. "I saw the [Trojan] horse on the beach and I was just like, 'Fuck.' It was just so cool."

The Odyssey hits theaters on July 17, promising audiences Nolan's distinctive take on one of literature's most enduring adventure stories.
