The Stranger Things star opens up about her acting journey and reveals which beloved franchise ending she considers the best in movie history, drawing surprising connections to her own show.

Fame at a young age comes with its own set of challenges, and Millie Bobby Brown knows this better than most. When Stranger Things premiered in 2016, she was just 12 years old. Now at 21, she's constantly looking back at everything she's picked up along the way, both professionally and personally.

Despite dealing with the pressures that come with early stardom, Brown has learned to focus on the bright side. She's currently handling major life changes like marriage and starting a family, but she manages to reframe these experiences positively. She sees how the years have developed her acting skills and views Stranger Things as something that will always connect to her future work.

Learning to Watch Herself on Screen

Many actors spend years struggling to watch their own performances without tearing themselves apart over what they could have done better. Brown has already figured out how pointless that kind of self-criticism is. In interviews, she comes across as surprisingly mature when talking about seeing herself on screen.

This makes perfect sense considering her role as Eleven demanded an actor who could be completely emotionally open. The character required someone who could dial up the intensity for dramatic scenes and action sequences whenever needed.

Embracing Vulnerability and No Regrets

That willingness to be vulnerable is something Brown carries with her. As she shared with Backstage, she's learned to "leave your humility at the door." This approach connects to why About Time ranks among her all-time favorite films - its message about regrets really spoke to her when she applied it to her own life and learned to separate meaningful emotions from pointless ones.

"That is how I lived this season," she explained in the same interview. "I have no regrets, and I'm very proud of the work I've done. So I'm not going back in the closet and wanting to change anything."

Drawing Parallels to Harry Potter's Perfect Ending

Brown's time on Stranger Things, along with her attraction to emotionally powerful movies like About Time, comes down to the strength of their messages. This is especially true for stories that have personal meaning over long periods or feel relevant to specific life moments.

Plenty of people have grown up alongside Stranger Things, creating high expectations for the upcoming finale. Brown feels confident they've delivered something nearly as powerful as what she considers the greatest ending in cinema history - the final Harry Potter film.

"The end of Harry Potter [is my favourite-ever ending]," she revealed. "That's probably my favourite film, the last one." She's talking about the time jump showing the main characters 19 years later with their own children. "I think it's very similar in many ways [to Stranger Things] because you're following these children, and you're trying to tie their storylines and character arcs together toward the end. It's probably the same amount of runtime. I mean, what was it? Ten years for them, too?"
