Despite canonically retaining his Six Paths Chakra abilities, the Seventh Hokage appears significantly weakened in the sequel series, sparking debates about inconsistent character writing.

Fans watching Boruto have noticed something troubling: Naruto seems to have forgotten he possesses some of the most powerful abilities in the ninja world. The Seventh Hokage still has his Six Paths Chakra - this isn't up for debate. Hagoromo didn't hand out temporary power-ups with expiration dates.

Yet somehow, the character who once reshaped reality now struggles like any ordinary shinobi. The disconnect between what Naruto should be capable of and what viewers actually see has become a major source of frustration among longtime fans.

Six Paths Abilities Remain Completely Underutilized

When Hagoromo granted Naruto Six Paths Senjutsu during the Fourth Great Ninja War, it wasn't a one-time boost. This permanent enhancement allows incredible feats: instantaneous healing from severe wounds, worldwide chakra detection, mastery over Yin-Yang Release techniques, and immunity to certain deadly attacks - all without requiring Kurama's assistance.

These capabilities didn't vanish when the war ended. No official source has ever stated that Naruto lost his Six Paths powers. There's been no retcon, no explanation, no "your divine abilities have been revoked" moment. The power remains part of his fundamental nature, just like regular Sage Mode.

Instead of showcasing these extraordinary talents, Boruto consistently shows Naruto relying on basic techniques. He uses standard Sage Mode or simplified versions of his fox transformations. The series treats him as though he went from "reality-warping legend" to "exhausted office worker who can barely handle paperwork."

Missing Chakra Sources Explain Visual Changes

While Naruto's core Six Paths foundation remains intact, the spectacular amplifiers from his war days are gone. During the conflict, he didn't just have Kurama's energy - he carried chakra fragments from every Tailed Beast, creating an unprecedented power source.

This massive chakra network allowed his Six Paths Sage Mode to reach incredible heights: glowing markings, flight capabilities, Truth-Seeking Orbs, and devastating combination attacks. But after the war concluded, several key elements disappeared. The borrowed Bijuu chakra returned to its original owners, Naruto exhausted his Truth-Seeking Orbs, and the Tailed Beasts resumed their independent existence.

Kurama's death during the Isshiki battle removed Naruto's biggest remaining amplifier. Without the Nine-Tails, he can't access Kurama Chakra Mode or fuse it with Six Paths energy to recreate those visually stunning transformations from Shippuden.

What's left is the base Six Paths Senjutsu - still incredibly powerful, but far more subtle than the flashy displays fans remember. Unfortunately, Boruto's creators seem uninterested in exploring these quieter aspects of Naruto's abilities, leaving viewers wondering why their favorite character appears so diminished.
