Pedro Pascal has had an incredible year, becoming Google's most searched actor. But behind the scenes of his long career, he once had a 'nightmarish' experience with a fellow actor who would later join the Marvel universe. Find out who it was and the hilarious story behind their on-stage antics.

It's safe to say 2025 has been the year of Pedro Pascal. According to Google's annual Year in Search data, he was the most looked-up actor in the entire country. This surge in popularity isn't surprising, given the string of high-profile projects he's been a part of recently. But looking back on his extensive career, Pascal once shared a story about an actor he jokingly called a complete "nightmare" to share a stage with.

The Hilarious On-Stage 'Nightmare'

During a conversation with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Pascal reminisced about working with Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac. The two shared the stage in a 2004 play called Beauty of the Father, and Isaac's on-stage antics made it a challenging experience for Pascal.

He played a ghost. He was the ghost of Federico Garcia Lorca, and no one but the main character could see Lorca, and the rest of us couldn’t see Lorca, but Oscar’s on stage, and he knows that we can’t see him, so he would come into your periphery while you were doing text, and just get you to laugh. It was a nightmare. It was a nightmare. You’re just doing this super serious scene, and then you start to feel his face just coming up and all right over here.

Trying to deliver serious lines while a co-star is doing everything he can to make you break character sounds incredibly tough. The fact that Pascal could get through his scenes is a testament to the professionalism that has defined his successful career.

A Friendship That Lasts

That early theater production was just the start of a long-lasting friendship. The two actors teamed up again in 2019 for the action movie Triple Frontier. By then, both were major stars, but they fully embraced their public "bromance," often showing a type of friendship between men that isn't always seen in Hollywood.

Pascal even once posted an Instagram story of the two of them cuddling, a move celebrated by fans. Their playful dynamic was on full display in a 2022 Esquire interview, where Isaac teased Pascal about their bond.

He’s obsessed with me. I try to get away from him, he finds me. Even when I change my number… it’s like a disease.

Through their close relationship, both actors are not only delivering powerful performances on screen but also helping to redefine traditional gender roles off-screen.

Pascal's Reign in Hollywood Continues

This year alone has been huge for Pascal, with roles in three different movies: Eddington, Materialists, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. He also returned for the highly anticipated second season of The Last of Us. While he had more film releases in 2024, his status as one of Hollywood's most sought-after actors remains solid.

And his momentum isn't slowing down. In 2026, he's set to star in two massive franchise films, The Mandalorian and Grogu for Lucasfilm and Avengers: Doomsday for Marvel Studios. With such a packed schedule, it wouldn't be a shock to see his name at the top of Google's search list again next year.
