Netflix's upcoming sci-fi action thriller 'War Machine' puts Alan Ritchson front and center as he continues building his action hero credentials beyond his Prime Video success with 'Reacher.' The film drops March 6, 2026, promising what the streaming giant calls a 'sci-fi action spectacle.'
Director Patrick Hughes, who helmed 'The Hitman's Bodyguard,' assembled an impressive cast around Ritchson. Dennis Quaid, Jai Courtney, Stephan James, Esai Morales, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Daniel Webber round out the ensemble for this high-stakes military thriller.

The plot focuses on the final 24 hours of U.S. Army Ranger selection training. What starts as a routine exercise quickly transforms into a deadly battle for survival. Jai Courtney, speaking in an exclusive interview, called the project a high-concept survival thriller. He praised the production's scope, which filmed entirely in Australia. Courtney noted Hughes' commitment to bringing blockbuster-level action filmmaking to the Australian movie industry.
Ritchson's Packed Schedule
This Netflix project represents just one piece of Ritchson's busy 2026 slate. He's returning as Jack Reacher for the show's fourth season. A Frances Neagley spin-off is also in the works for the same year.
His other upcoming projects include a Christmas action comedy called 'The Man with the Bag' alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.
