The highly anticipated sequel to the hit horror-comedy is finally here, and the stakes are higher than ever. Samara Weaving returns as Grace, but this time, the deadly game has evolved, and a new council of killers is out for blood. Can she survive another night of terror?

The initial look at Ready or Not 2: Here I Come has dropped, promising a follow-up that's every bit as gruesome as its predecessor. The new movie seems to be doubling down on the wild, dark comedy that the first one only hinted at, with over-the-top villains and creative kills. This sequel is clearly aiming to be more outrageous and lean heavily into its zany, tongue-in-cheek humor.

A Deadly New Game

The preview opens with Samara Weaving's character, Grace, seemingly safe in a hospital room, whispering, "Thank God it's over." Her relief is short-lived, as she quickly discovers her "medical care" is just the start of a brand-new deadly contest. The game of 'Hide or Seek' is a thing of the past; now, she must play 'Double or Nothing'.

A sharply dressed character played by Elijah Wood lays out the new reality for her. "You've caused quite the stir. You married into that family, now they're dead. What you didn't know is that this goes far beyond them," he says, revealing that she must now face off against the lethal High Council.

The Stakes Are Raised

Grace initially refuses to participate, groaning, "I'm not playing." However, Wood's manipulative character forces her hand by introducing her sister, Faith, played by Kathryn Newton, and threatening her life if Grace doesn't comply. This ultimatum kicks off a wave of predictable mayhem and gore. A new lineup of hunters is introduced, ready to join the chase.

A Killer Cast Assembles

The teaser showcases a star-studded group of antagonists, including Nestor Carbonell (Shōgun), Shawn Hatosy (The Pitt), Varan Sarunga (Wynonna Earp), and the iconic Sarah Michelle Gellar, all arming themselves to hunt the two sisters. While they don't appear in this first look, the film's supporting cast also features Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, and horror legend David Cronenberg.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the directors behind the original film, are back at the helm for the sequel. Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is scheduled to hit theaters on April 10, 2026.

With a packed year for horror fans, the conversation is already buzzing about which film will be the standout of 2025, with titles like The Conjuring: Last Rites, Weapons, 28 Years Later, Final Destination Bloodlines, and Sinners all in the running.
