Seth Green Reveals Bill Murray's Shocking Childhood Abuse
Robot Chicken creator Seth Green opens up about a disturbing encounter with Bill Murray during his childhood appearance on Saturday Night Live, exposing troubling behavior from the beloved comedian.
Bill Murray has long been celebrated as one of Hollywood's most beloved comedic performers, with memorable roles in classics like Groundhog Day, Ghostbusters, and Lost in Translation cementing his status as an entertainment legend. However, beneath the charming on-screen persona lies a pattern of troubling behavior that has followed the actor throughout his career.
Recent years have brought numerous allegations against Murray, including workplace harassment and inappropriate conduct. The actor reportedly settled with a crew member who accused him of sexual misconduct during the filming of Being Mortal, where he allegedly straddled and kissed her without permission. These incidents represent just a fraction of the documented cases involving Murray's problematic behavior on set.
A Traumatic Childhood Memory
Perhaps most disturbing are accounts of Murray's treatment of children, including a shocking incident involving actor Seth Green. During a 2022 appearance on Good Mythical Morning, Green recounted a harrowing experience from his childhood that occurred when he was just nine years old.
The incident took place during Green's guest appearance on Saturday Night Live, where he participated in a holiday segment with cast member Mary Gross. Murray, who was hosting that particular episode, encountered the young Green backstage and became agitated over seating arrangements.
An Unthinkable Response
According to Green's account, Murray became upset when he found the child sitting on the arm of a chair backstage. Despite the fact that Green was occupying only a small portion of the furniture and plenty of other seating was available, Murray demanded the boy move from what he claimed was his spot.
When Green's mother suggested he relocate to avoid conflict, the young actor couldn't understand why such a minor issue had escalated. The situation quickly turned physical when Murray decided to take matters into his own hands in the most inappropriate way possible.
A Disturbing Display of Power
What happened next defies belief for anyone expecting professional behavior from an adult entertainer toward a child guest. Green recalled the terrifying moment: "He picked me up by my ankles. Held me upside down…He dangled me over a trash can and he was like, 'The trash goes in the trash can.' And I was screaming, and I swung my arms, flailed wildly, full contact with his balls. He dropped me in the trash can, the trash can falls over. I was horrified. I ran away, hid under the table in my dressing room and just cried."
This account reveals a deeply troubling side of Murray's personality, showing how his alleged pattern of bullying behavior extended even to vulnerable children in professional settings. The incident left lasting psychological impact on Green, who still recalls the experience vividly decades later.
