Shakira's recent red carpet appearance for Zootopia 2 with her sons took an unexpected turn. An incident involving her lavender gown and an overzealous stylist has fans talking, but what really happened during the seemingly tense exchange? The internet is divided over the viral clip.

Shakira recently attended the Zootopia 2 premiere, a rare public outing with her two sons, Milan and Sasha. While she looked stunning in a lavender turtleneck dress with an asymmetrical hem, the event was overshadowed by a tense interaction with her stylist that was caught on camera. The clip quickly went viral, leaving many viewers to question what was really going on.

What Happened at the Premiere?

While posing for photos, the singer's stylist approached her on three separate occasions to adjust the high-low hem of her gown, which sat on her upper thigh. Video of the interaction shows the stylist repeatedly fussing with the fabric. While some might see this as a normal part of a stylist's job, the singer's reaction suggested she was not pleased with the prolonged attention.

Her discomfort was palpable. At one point, Shakira placed her hands over the hem in what appeared to be a defensive gesture as the stylist continued to make adjustments. The exchange has ignited a conversation online, with many pointing out her body language.

Fans Weigh In on the Viral Clip

Social media users were quick to share their opinions, with reactions split between defending the stylist and criticizing his actions. Some believed he was simply trying to prevent a wardrobe malfunction under the harsh camera flashes, while others felt he crossed a line by ignoring her clear discomfort.

The comment sections were flooded with different takes on the situation:

You can see the uncomfortable reaction. That means no

He was genuinely trying to fix something on her where it looks like her body was popping out, and he was trying to fix it because of how it would’ve looked with the camera flashes. He was really looking out for her.

He’s trying to help & there’s no ill intentions but the timing was off. 😂

Stylist loves their design and don’t like when it’s not perfect.

SHE SHOULDN’T HAVE WORN THAT BUT HE MADE HER TOO UNCOMFORTABLE INFRONT OF HER CHILDREN AND THE VIEWERS

~@theserenemoon

In our industry reading body language is very important, I didn’t see any malicious behavior but she was clearly uncomfortable and that’s the issue. As a professional you must find a way to resolve the issue without causing these situations

Everyone saying she was uncomfortable cuz of him. Look at her walk away. She’s covering that area. She’s uncomfortable due to the dress and the possible exposure it could give. Her stylist sees this and tries to help. He is doing that in reaction to her reaction wearing the dress. Not the other way around

~@bananatannaaa

This is why I don’t like stylists sometimes. They don’t know when to stop fixing the clothes, hair etc. like you are in front of cameras read the room.

He wasn’t fixing anything…he was violating her in front of the world. At what point do people become self aware? The lack there of is concerning

~@norrahcsenoj

I get that he might have wanted the dress to look perfect but to ignore all the signs and not acknowledge that she was not okay with what he was doing is appalling. She’s not his mannequin, she’s a living, breathing person with feelings that should be respected

What to Expect from the New Movie

The highly anticipated sequel, Zootopia 2, arrived in theaters on November 26, 2025, nearly a decade after the original film. Disney's promotional trailer kept things mysterious, showing Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde facing a new villain without any dialogue. The film introduces a new reptilian character named Gary De’Snake to the bustling city.

This time, Judy and Nick go undercover to investigate the shady newcomer whose presence is causing a stir. The movie also promises to explore new environments within the city, including marshlands and desert areas. Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman return to voice Judy and Nick, respectively. Shakira also reprises her role as Gazelle, complete with a new look and song, and Idris Elba is back as Chief Bogo.

New additions to the cast include Ke Huy Quan as Gary, Fortune Feimster as a beaver named Nibbles, and Quinta Brunson as a quokka therapist named Dr. Fuzzby. Dwayne Johnson also makes a cameo appearance, voicing a dik-dik named Zeke!
