The stunning revelation in Stranger Things season 5 Volume 1 left everyone speechless, including producer Shawn Levy. But he warns that the biggest moments are yet to come, promising that the final episodes will deliver even more epic and satisfying twists that will move audiences to their core.

The massive twist in the first part of Stranger Things' final season left audiences stunned, and producer Shawn Levy was right there with them. However, he suggests that incredible moment might soon be overshadowed. Levy is hinting at even more "shocking" developments in the upcoming second volume and the series grand finale.

A Perfectly Crafted Reveal

Levy recalls the powerful impact the story had on him from the very beginning. "I remember the goosebumps I got when the Duffers pitched it to me. I remember the goosebumps I got all over again when I read the earliest draft of the script, and I sure as hell still get those goosebumps when I watch it," Levy shared in a recent SFX magazine interview.

The executive producer was referring to the pivotal scene in episode 4 where Will Byers channels Vecna's energy to obliterate the Demogorgons and rescue his friends. "The logic of this iconic, epic reveal of Will's powers just felt so right," Levy explained. "I'll never forget the first time the brothers pitched me the reveal that Will's connection to the Mind Flayer, to the Upside Down, finally results, not in his being possessed and compromised, but by being empowered, and it's confirmed by that defining nosebleed."

Bigger Shocks Are Coming

While Will's newfound abilities completely changed the game—a moment Levy described as feeling "like a holy shit moment, a mic drop of a moment,"—the director of Deadpool and Wolverine assured fans there's more in store. He promised that "the next four episodes take you even further into revelations and storytelling that is jaw-droppingly epic and satisfying."

What exactly these revelations are remains a closely guarded secret for now. But one thing is certain: viewers should prepare for an emotional ride when the finale airs on New Year's Eve.

An Emotional Farewell

Levy admitted he was brought to tears and felt "deeply moved" by the show's final episode. "What they've achieved floored me and moved me profoundly," he said. "In fact, I hope the Duffers never reenact the weepy phone call I made to them on FaceTime while I was in London making Star Wars. I watched the finale one night and called them at midnight London time, just fucking sobbing and so astonished by how satisfying it is."

Netflix is keeping details about the remainder of season 5 under wraps. With Will's emerging powers, the enigma of the cave, and the return of Eleven's long-lost sister, Eight, there are plenty of loose ends to address. The first volume of Stranger Things season 5 is currently available on Netflix, and the second volume is scheduled to premiere on Christmas Day.
