The Audacity Adds Usman Ally as a Series Regular for Season 2
AMC's Silicon Valley satire The Audacity has cast Usman Ally as a series regular for its second season, per Deadline.
He'll play Byron Zandani, a senior Silicon Valley lawyer described as composed and thoughtful and permanently exhausted by the tech CEOs whose fires he's paid to put out. He's constantly navigating ethically ambiguous decisions, which is a polite way of describing a man who knows exactly what everyone around him is doing.
The show
Created by Jonathan Glatzer, The Audacity is set inside the Silicon Valley bubble and aims squarely at the warped ambitions, oversized egos and ethical failures of people who describe themselves as inventing the future. It is not, based on the first season, especially gentle about it.
Ally joins previously announced season two cast member Miriam Shor.
Timing
Production started last month in Vancouver. Season two arrives in 2027.
The overworked in-house lawyer is the most underused character type in tech satire. Everyone writes the founder. Almost nobody writes the person who has to make the founder legal.
