Two beloved comedy stars from the 90s are joining forces again for an unexpected horror-comedy project that promises to blend nostalgia with monster mayhem. Their latest collaboration takes them into uncharted territory.

The comedy partnership that defined 90s Nickelodeon is back. Thompson and Mitchell, who made audiences laugh as the stars of their hit sitcom and Good Burger movies, are teaming up once more for a monster-filled adventure called 'Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein.'

Both actors will star in and produce this horror-comedy hybrid. Cameras start rolling this summer. The announcement came during Prime Video's Good Sports show, where Mitchell filled in as guest host.

New Territory for the Comedy Pair

Thompson shared his enthusiasm for mixing nostalgia with comedy and unexpected elements. Mitchell said the project feels right and lets them explore their chemistry in fresh ways. Jonah Feingold is handling the screenplay.

The production team includes Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Carter Swan, and John Ryan Jr. as producers. Creators describe the movie as 'Shaun of the Dead meets Scooby-Doo' style entertainment, drawing from classic comedy teams like Abbott and Costello plus Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder.

From Delivery to Disaster

The plot centers on two delivery drivers making what should be a routine drop-off. Things go sideways when they reach a spooky castle and accidentally wake up Frankenstein's monster. Their ordinary night becomes a battle for survival.

This marks their first collaboration since 'Good Burger 2' hit screens in 2023. That sequel arrived 26 years after the original movie launched their big-screen partnership.

Monster Movie Tribute

The film pays respect to Abbott and Costello's famous horror-comedies featuring Universal monsters, especially 'Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.' Thompson and Mitchell want their movie to become another beloved monster mashup that audiences remember.

The duo built their reputation on Nickelodeon's sketch comedy shows before transitioning to movies. Their chemistry made them household names among 90s kids who grew up watching their antics.
