The hit conspiracy show from the creators of I Think You Should Leave just wrapped its first season, leaving fans with more questions than answers. Now, a strange discovery online has everyone talking about what's next for the series.

My focus has been completely consumed by one thing lately: The Chair Company. The brilliant new series from Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin, the minds behind I Think You Should Leave, has been a hilarious and unsettling journey. Its first season just concluded with a finale that managed to solve nothing while simultaneously setting up a second season that could go in any direction. After a bit of sleuthing that the show's own Ron Trosper would appreciate, I might have stumbled upon the premiere date for its return.

The Digital Breadcrumb Trail

It all starts in the final episode. Ron adopts a new dog he calls Baby. In a typically bizarre twist, he learns the dog already has an owner, a mysterious man named Asher Barton, and a real name: Minnie Mouse. Ron has Asher snap a photo of them together and tag him on Instagram.

When Ron checks the post, he finds a flood of angry comments from users like @noodlebattery1 and @astro.crumbs. One user, @ghosttoast_studios, even provides the episode's title with the comment, "Minnie Mouse coming back wasn't on my bingo card."

A Real-World Investigation

Out of curiosity for my new favorite show, I looked up all the Instagram handles that appeared on screen. Most of them, including @plantpunk88, @noodlebattery1, and @astro.crumbs, were obvious fakes. Two of them, however, turned out to be actual, live accounts: @ghosttoast_studios and @asher_barton76.

While @ghosttoast_studios has yet to post anything, the account for Asher Barton contains two images. The first is a picture of a Tecca chair captioned, "god i f***ing love these things". The second post was far more intriguing: a screenshot from a notes app showing the date 04/23/26 next to a red circle.

Putting the Pieces Together

The clue doesn't require much analysis. This feels like the start of an alternate reality game, with the date clearly pointing to April 23, 2026. The red ball has been a recurring visual motif throughout the series. With a second season already confirmed by the network, this date seems like a plausible release target. If true, that would be a remarkably quick production cycle for a streaming series, but The Chair Company isn't a show heavy on special effects or post-production work. It certainly doesn't need the three-year gap between seasons that plagues shows like Stranger Things.

This potential timeline could also explain the network's unusual decision to announce the show's renewal two weeks before the first season even finished airing. Of course, considering the show's wonderfully convoluted and absurd plot, this could all be a massive misdirection. For now, I'll be watching that date, along with the also-live @teccachairs account, as we all wait for more news.
