Rising Star Dreams of Playing Isaac Clarke in Dead Space Film
Young actor Alfie Williams reveals his passion for the horror video game franchise and his hopes to bring the iconic engineer to the big screen in a future adaptation.
Alfie Williams hasn't even seen his latest film hit American theaters, but the young star is already eyeing his next big break. The actor, fresh off his role in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, recently shared his dream of bringing Dead Space's Isaac Clarke to life on the silver screen.
Speaking with reporters, Williams revealed he's been diving deep into the classic horror game series. When asked about potential future projects, the 15-year-old didn't hesitate to express his interest in a film version of the beloved franchise.
Gaming Passion Meets Hollywood Ambitions
"I've been sticking to the classics," Williams explained during his interview. The suggestion that fans might rally behind his casting seemed to excite the newcomer, who has already made waves in the industry.
In a separate conversation with Wonderland magazine, Williams got more specific about his aspirations. He wants to portray Isaac Clarke "if they ever decide to make a live-action version" of Dead Space. There's just one small problem with his timeline.
"But I would have to wait a while, since the character is like 40 years old!" the teenager admitted. His honesty about the age gap shows a mature understanding of the casting process.
Beyond Space Horror
Williams' ambitions don't stop at sci-fi horror. The actor also expressed interest in Western films, calling it a genre he'd "absolutely love" to explore. His favorite in the category? Young Guns, and he'd jump at the chance to play Billy the Kid in any potential remake.
The Dead Space franchise, which first launched in 2008 and received a remake in 2023, follows engineer Isaac Clarke as he investigates the mysterious USG Ishimura. The story begins when Isaac receives a distressing message from his girlfriend Nicole, leading him to the seemingly abandoned mining vessel.
A Perfect Storm for Adaptation
What starts as a rescue mission quickly turns into a nightmare. The ship's crew has fallen victim to a deadly outbreak after discovering an alien artifact on planet Aegis VII. Isaac must navigate the vessel's dark corridors while battling Necromorphs, the horrifying reanimated remains of the former crew members.
The game's rich narrative includes political conspiracies and a dangerous cult, providing plenty of material for a potential film adaptation. With Hollywood's growing interest in video game properties, Williams' dream might not be as far-fetched as it seems.
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple opens in US theaters January 16, following its UK release. The film has already generated buzz around Williams' performance, with industry watchers naming him a standout newcomer for 2025.
