The Stranger Things actress revealed she learned about her Marvel casting from internet speculation two days before getting the official call from the studio.

Sadie Sink will appear in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but she discovered her casting in the most modern way possible. The Stranger Things actress found out about her Marvel role through online speculation before studio executives even called her.

During her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Sink shared the unusual story of how she learned about joining the MCU. She spotted rumors about her casting 48 hours before Marvel Studios made it official.

Internet Theories Beat Official Calls

"I found out through online theories," Sink explained to Fallon. "Before I got cast in Spider-Man, there was speculation online that said, 'Sadie Sink is gonna be in the new Spider-Man,' I was like, 'I am?' Sure enough, two days later, they asked me to do it! So yeah, those theories, there's sometimes some truth to it!"

The timing surprised even Sink herself. Fan speculation proved accurate before any official communication reached her team.

Character Mystery Drives Fan Speculation

Marvel keeps Sink's character under wraps, but fans have plenty of theories. Popular guesses include a fresh take on Mary Jane Watson, Punisher associate Rachel Cole, or even an MCU version of X-Men's Jean Grey.

"It's torture! There's so much speculation," Sink said about the constant rumors. "I feel like there's a new character every week. I tell people, like the people I know." Her inner circle has managed to keep whatever secrets they know.

Some fans believe Rachel Cole makes the most sense. Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle appears in the movie, and leaked set photos seem to show Sink in military gear. The evidence points toward a Punisher connection.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters July 31. Until then, fans will keep guessing about Sink's mystery role.
